SWGA Art Show Opening Reception: August 19, 2021
The Firehouse Arts Center will host a summer exhibition for all artists in the SWGA area. Artists are invited to show or sell up to three pieces of original art. All work must be ready to hang. The following medium may be used in the show: drawing, painting, mixed media, photography, collage, textiles, sculpture and ceramics. Opening night for the public will be on Thursday August 19th from 6 to 8 pm.
The show will run from August 20th to the 29th in the Harrell Gallery.
Art should be submitted to the Firehouse with a registration form on Sunday, August 15 from 2 to 4 pm.
Kenneth Reshard Exhibition: October 7 – 17th, 2021
Kenneth Reshard is a native Tallahasseean. He attended Tallahassee Community College and Florida A&M University where he majored in Fine Arts. He works in many media, ceramics, painting, drawing, printmaking, graphics and collage. Sometimes, he combines techniques in a single piece. His work is rich both in surface quality and in symbolic expression. Deep colors, gold leaf, and rhythmic patterns create compositions, which are almost musical. His work combines images of African textiles, cubist fractures, and modern frontality. Reshard loves using his hands and mind in creating works, which reflect his own sensibility and reality.
His art has been exhibited in over 25 locations around the southeast. His work has been published in local and international publications. Kenneth also has a seat on the board of the 621 Art Gallery, a local art gallery here in Tallahassee, Florida. He is on the Artopia Committee in Tallahassee as well with his main function on this committee is Art Acquisitions, where they acquire artwork from art galleries and other artists. He was awarded numerous times for his achievements in art.
